Description
Crocodile Escapes from Private Menagerie... Tiny Reptile Creates Local Sensation... Mrs. Margaret Ive wife of the land lord of the "Six Bells" Public House at Ruislip, Middlesex, has a private menagerie in the garden of her home. The Menagerie includes a monkey, five tortoises, a Yorkshire terrier, and two cats, plus six months old "Clara" a tiny crocodile. Yesterday Clara vanished and a minor sensation was created in the area. Police were called in to search for her in the woods around the home and bathers at the Ruislip Lido were warned with the notice "Danger crocodile at large". She was finally tracked down to a water filed ditch, ten yards from her home. Clara looks very ferocious close up, but she is only were very tiny really. Keystone Photo Shows: The "Beast of Ruislip" is really only very very tiny as this picture shows... Looks rather different in companion picture.

Photo measures 8 x 10.25 inches.
