Description
Secrets Of The Q4 Revealed: The shape, colours and other details of the new Cunarder were revealed yesterday for the first time, when Chairman Sir Basil Small piece unveiled a seals model of the ship at the Riverside Promenade, Royal Festival Hall. A similar function was taking place in New York at the same time. The world's fastest and most powerful twin screw liner, Cunard's Q4 will have more open deck space than any other passenger ship. Two thirds the tonnage of the Queens, she will carry the same number of passengers in greater comfort and at the same cruising speed - but will be the largest ship capable of passing through the Panama and Suez canals for world wide cruising. Restaurants high in the ship with sea views for all the 2,000 passengers is one of the new liner's unique features. The 58,000 ton liner will be launched by the Queen is September. Photo shows The great sweep of the twin lido decks at the after and of the new Cunarder. This picture at the Q4 model gives some idea of the large open-deck in the new ship.
