A Champion who put Duty first: Rita Burgess is the British Honduras national champion at the shot, discus and Javelin. She missed the last Commonwealth Games because of a hurri~ane. She will miss this year's Games too because of her devotion to duty. For she has passed up her chance to compete, in august, to come to England for a police training course. Rita, 29, joined the British Honduras police two years ago. She is half-way through her three-month course ay Bruche police Training Centre, Warrington, Lanesshire. Rita said: "I have been in England for the selection period for the games and I won't be able to go." Rita's course - she is one of the first coloured policewomen to be trained in Britain - has been arranged by the Ministry of Overeas Development. When she goes home to Belize city in July she will probably be promoted and may be put in charge of the instruction of new women recruits.
