~~~~~~~ Stoun - a School for the Strong in Mind and body: Fill it be the chosen training ground for the Heir to the Throne? As public schools begin to close down for the long holidays ~~~ye and masters at several major ones must be wondering whether during the holidays the long - awaited announcement will be made ~~ where Prince Charles will continue his education after leaving Cheam School. With Eton, Gordonstoun is still a hot favorite because the Duke of Edinburgh was there and is know to favour its in some ways unorthodox methods conceived and practiced by the famous Dr. Hahn in Germany at Salem and later when he moved from Nazi Germany o Scotland and continued them at Gordonstoun. Since the at the school has gone from strength to strength and more people are realizing the value of its method of encouraging self- reliance, a tough physical education allied to all that is best academically and with a good balance of practical subjects. For the adventurous boy the school is a heaven-on earth with its own Mountains Rescue Unit, Fire Service Unit, canceling, pipe band, electronics labora: and its sometimes criticized methods of Self- discipline, punishments of silence; and habits of cold-water showers for all have seldom carried much weight with those who have been there.

How Gordonstounn Helps the Local Community : The Hahn- Gordonstoun idea is that a school she ld not isolate itself but serve the community in which it exists. The Young always respond to challenge and rescue work is such an inspiration. Therefore, in addition to the usual C.C.F., the school runs an efficient Coastguard Unit integrated with the H.M.Coastguard of the area; o fire Service,a Unit integrated with the H.M. Coastguard of the area; a Fire Service, a Unit of the National Fire Brigade; a Mountain Rescue Unit and a Surf-Life-saving Unit, ready at any time.
