September 30th - 1976 An old London Custom is revived in Drury Lane - Remember the good old days when Muffins were 'called' in London streets. Today the "Muffin Man', dressed in authentic traders costume, came back to haunt London's famous Drury Lane - the original "Muffin Lane' - or so the rhyme goes. Homepride Bakeries, who have their head offices in Drury Lane, were heralding the start of this year's Muffin Season (from October to March) with a Muffin man ringing his handbell and chanting his tasty wares in the portico of the famous Drury Lane Theatre.
