SEPTEMBER 9TH - 1975. TURKISH EARTHQUAKE DEATH TOLL RISES TO OVER TWO-THOUSAND. Rescue workers struggled to avert disease and chaos in eastern Turkey as the death toll from Saturday's earthquake at Lice rose to more than 2.000. Hundreds of people were injured, thousands were left homeless, and about 1.000 died in Lice alone. Photo Shows a view of the devastation caused by the earthquake at lice in Eastern Turkey.
