Nine Now Dead in Tube Disaster. Nine people were known today to have died in the Central Line Tube disaster at Stratford last night, the worst in the London Underground's history. Keystone Photo Shows: There is grim tragedy on their faces as railway workers, firemen and ambulance men carry a stretcher case along the platform at Stratford today. As the stretcher is carried to an ambulance a nurse holds a bottle giving the victim a blood transfusion.
