Colonel Nasser Ousts General Neguib from Office. General Neguib, President of Egypt, has been deposed from office by the Revolutionary Command Council and âœrelieved of all his State dutiesâ. He is not being replaced for the present, but Lieut. Col. Nasser, Prime Minister, will fulfill all the functions of Head of State. The General was taken to Villa Marg, outside Cairo, where he is under house arrest. He is alleged to have had a hand in the abortive Moslem Brotherhood plot to over throw Nasserâs government. Photo Shows: General Meguib is seen talking to Wing Commander Hassan Ibrahim, Minister of Palace Affairs, as he leaves the Republican Palace. On left is General Abdel Hakim Amer, War Minister.
