Description
MP's Denial Poulson Payments - Mr. Sam Siljkin QC the Attroney-General, is to make a statement in the Commons early this week about his decision not to anthorise prosecution of three MPs who received payments from John Poulson, the architect jailed for corruption. He is expected to refer to lack of evidence to justify production and to the rule that even in cases where evidence is found, MP's cannot be prosecuted for bribery or corruption with their Parliuamentary duties. One of the three MP's, Mr John Cordle, Conservative for Bournmouth East, has issued a statement strongly denying allegations in a Sunday newspaper about his ties with Poulson.
