Dr. David Pitt takes over as the first black Chairman of the Greater London Council: Dr. David Pitt, aged 60, and born in Granada, was installed as the new Chairman of the Greater London Council during today's annual meeting at the County Hall. Dr. Pitt was educated at Edinburgh University and has served on the London County Council from 1961-65, and on the GLC since its creation in 1964. Photo shows Dr. David Pitt pictured at County Hall before the installation ceremony today.
