Nobel Prize in Chemistry awarded to British and German Professor to-day: This year's Nobel laureates for Chemistry are British Prof. Geoffrey Wilkinson, 52, teaching at London University and his German Colleague, Prof. Ernst Otto Fischer, 55, dept, of An organic Chemistry at Technische Universitat Munich. Both scientist have worked in the field of metallic organic chemistry. Professor Wilkinson discovered a certain home-gene catalyst. The one found in Rhodium was named after him. Metallic-organic compounds play an important part in present chemistry, for they make the producing of completely new chemicals possible when present. Photo Shows German Professor Ernst Otto Fischer in his laboratory.
