1956 Press Photo Foal Loses Mother and Gains Foster Mother

S.O.S' At race meeting to save a foal. A Foster mother. Recegoers at Kenpton Park racecourse yesterday heard an appeal broadcast asking id anyone could find a foster mother for Elsie a three week old foal which belongs to the Maiden Erleigh stud near Roading. Elsue had lost her mother and was being cared for by the stable staff. feeding her with glucose and warm milk every two hours. The appeal was soon answered for a pony that had lost its own foal was being taken from Wiltshire to meet the baby.
