Iain Macleod the peacemaker in the shipyard strike.: A settlement of the shipyard strike is in sight. Mrs. Iain Macleod, the Minister of Labour, reported this to Mr. R.A. Butler, acting Prime Minister, and an emergency meeting of home-front Minister of the House of Commons just before midnight last night. Sir Wilfred Neden, the Ministry's Chief Industrial Commissioner, is aiming to bring the two sides in the dispute which threatened to be the prelude to Britain's greatest labour crisis since 1926 together at a round table conference today. Photo shows Mr. Iain Macleod, the Minister of Labour pictured in his office at the Ministry of Labour yesterday.
