1955 Press Photo Jacob Malik, The Soviet Ambassador, Receives Blackpool Rock

STICK OF ROCK FOR MR. MALIK. A stick of Blackpool rock which, instead of being inscribed "Blackpool", had the words "J.B. Malik, U.S.S.R." running right through - was presented to Mr. Jacob Malik, the Soviet Ambassador, after he had flicked the silver switch which set aglow the 350,000 coloured lights of Blackpool's illuminations.
