Stowaways "thrown into the sea".The Piraeus port police authorities recently arrested the captain of the German cargo boat "Rudgert Vinnen" of Bremen - 50-year old Bert Steeve, who is accused of throwing into the sea two turkish illegal passengers who had secretly boarded the boat after they paid 60 dollars to the carpenter of the vessel. The two Turks were discovered in Alexandria, but since the Egyptian authorities refused their disembarkation, The German captain, it was alleged , gave them two old life jackets, some water and one dollar, and threw them into the sea while sailing off the coast of Crete. One of the two Turks, Sallin Trifi succeeded in reach the coast of Crete and was saved, whilst the others named Akir Ekiyun, was probably drowned, as two days of searching failed to find him. Photo shows the German captain Bert Steeve who is accused of throwing two Turkish stowaways int the water, seen in the headquarters of Port Authorities in Piareus.
