"Dick Turpin" - 1957 Version Arrives in London He Jumps On To His Horse: Mr. Peter Munt in the guise of "Dick Turpin" arrived in London this morning at the end of his ride from York. He carries a 63,000 name petition from the Roads Campaign Council from Yorkshire People in an effort to obtain better roads.He presented the petition at the House of Commons. Photo Shows In true 'dick Turpin' style - Peter Munt jumps from the balcony of the ancient George Inn, Southward - on his horse - to continue his journey to present the petition at the House of commons today. Mr. Munt's Journey from York took him two days - and he changed horses every fifteen miles.
