The world's smallest jockey? 15-year old Kenneth Glover, of Harregate Yorks, is probably the world's smallest jockey. He is so small that the bundles of straw he carried into the stables nearly bury him. He is, in fact, just 4ft. tall and weighs 3~t. 8Ibs. Kenneth loves horses, and used to spend his time peering round a table doors. And that was how he become a jockey. He was noticed by Mr, Harold Storey, the trainer, at Austwick, where he has his stables, in Yorkshire, and gave young Kenneth a six-year old mare ~~~~~~ to ride in race at Catterick and RIpon. He came fifth at Caterricn and fourth at Ripon. Kenneth and musth~~~ are teamed together again in the Apprentices Championship at Carlisle, on September 3ed - and they hope to win this time. Photo shows Kenneth is not on the fence when it comes to choosing a career. He's going to be jockey all his life although he has to stand on a box to brush a horse. Here he shows 9-year Suzanne, noice of trainer Harold Steryy, how he will ride his race next month.

Photo measures 8.25 x 10 inches.

Photo is dated 08-08-1953.
