Crocodile breeding in Cuba: One of the peculiarities of Cuba is crocodile breeding. On the largest farm at Cienaga de Zapata in the National Park, Matanzas Province, there are more than 20,000 crocodiles, some being 14 to 16 years old. The farm employes several workers who collect crocodile eggs and put them into special hatcheries (one crocodile lays up to 30 eggs a month). Later, when the breed will be still bigger, the reptiles will be killed and their precious skins will be processed. Photo shows In this join-up picture we see an eight month old crocodile looking quite harmless (top picture) while the grown up crocodile (bottom) looks very fearsome. Both pictures are taken at the crocodile farm in Cuba.
