Description
Temptress "Alice" is brought to Eltham in the Hope that she will Entice "Berti" back: Somewhere in South East London last night "Berti" a dangerous snake - a six-foot boa constrictor - was at large. Children were kept indoors and cats and small dogs were locked up, for the constrictor will eat any small live animal. The snake escaped from a tank in the cellar of a pet shop in Well-Hall Parade, Eltham. Today Mr. Reg Fairbairn brought "Alioe" a female boa constrictor from his other shop at Manor Park and placed her in his shop at Eltham in the hope that she will entice "Bertie" back after the police with dogs have failed. Photo Shows Mr and Mrs. Fairbairn, seen in their shop today with "Alice" - whom they hope will entice "Bertie" back.

Photo measures 8 x 10 inches.

Photo is dated 03-03-1957.
