The Welch Regiment Receive New Mascot.. Handed over at London Zoo. A young goat was handed over to Major J.R.Harper (4th. Bt. Welch Regiment) at the London Zoo this morning. The Goat is to be named "SOSPAN I" a complete break from the traditional "Taffy".. The goat will take part in all ceremonial parades of the Regiment..Photo shows Goat Major David Brooks seen with "SOSPAN I" the new Mascot of the Regiment on the Mappin Terraces at the London Zoo this morning.
