Koala's Lucky Escape: This female Koala bear, nursing a baby in its pouch, miraculously survived a bush fire which ravaged a forest in Australia recently. As 30 metre high flames swept through the trees which were her home, she made her way down to a dry creek bed and escaped with only slightly singed fur. Two RSPCA rescue team members, Paul Stichel and Tom Goldborn, found her under a blackberry bush and handed her over to a vet for treatment. She was then released into a nearby conservation park to begin a new life. Photo shows Rescuers Stichel and Goldborn look after the lucky koala.
