1962 Press Photo TV appeal to save Foal

TV appeal to save Foal: A newmarket stud made a TV appeal last week to save the life of a 3,000 foal. The foal's mother , Red Hot Poker, died giving birth to it at Banstead Manor Stud, Cheveley, Newmarket. The appeal was for a mare in milk to help save the foal. A "foster-mother" was found as a result. Photo Shows The foal and its foster-mother at Newmarket today. It is now four days old.
