Description
London Warned - "Policemen Could Be Killed"; London was warned today that policemen could be killed unless something was done to resolve clashes between police and black people. Mr. Jeff Crawford, secretary of the 10,000 strong West Indian standing Conference, gave the warning while talking about clashes like these in Maida Vale on Sunday when 17 policemen were hurt, He said; "Unless something is done right now to try to resolve the situation which is rapidly deteriorating, it is almost certain that there might be one or two killings in these clashes with the police. "It is possible that a policeman or policemen will be killed." Mr. Crawford said he was not expressing an extremist minority view - but that of the Black Community.
