Archbishop of Canterbury appeals to Ayatollah for British Missionaries: The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Runcie, has appealed directly to Ayatollah Khomeini to allow a representative of the the Anglican Church to visit the Three British Missionaries being held in Iran. The Three Anglican missionaries being held are, Miss Jean Weddell, 58, who was formerly the secretary to the Anglican Bishop of Iran, is known to be in Evin prison in Tsharan. Dr.John Coleman and his Audrey, both 57, who used to run a medical mission at Yard.have been handed over to the Iranian Prime Minister's Office but no one knows where they are detained.Photo Shows The Archbishop Of Canterbury Dr.Runice, carving the festival bird in Canterbury yesterday in readiness for 40 Christmas lunches to be distributed to the house bound around the city, as he awaits new form Iran.
