Archbishop Leads Pilgrims At Walsingham: 15,000 Pilgrims led by the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Rev. Robert Runncie, gathered at Walsinham , Norfolk, yesterday to give thanks for the life of the Virgin Mary. It was the first time in modern history that an Anglican Primate Officiated at the ceremony, an outdoor Soleman Mass was celebrated in the Abeey grounds.Protesters demonstrated against the visit and the Archbishop had to walk past Various banners. The Duchess of Kent, who lives nearby at Armer, sat with otherPilgrims and queued to receive Communion. Picture Shows:The Archbishop of Centerbury delivers an open air sermon in the abbey grounds.
