Archbishop of Canterbury appeals to Ayatollah for British Missionaries: The Archbishop of Canterbury, Dr. Runcie, has appealed directly to Ayatollah Khomeini to allow a representative of the the Anglican Church to visit the Three British Missionaries being held in Iran. The Three Anglican missionaries being held are, Miss Jean Weddell, 58, who was formerly the secretary to the Anglican Bishop of Iran, is known to be in Evin prison in Tsharan.
