1958 Press Photo M Nordling, Swedish Consul in Paris

He saved Paris from Total Destruction: M. Nordling who was Swedish Counsul in Paris (where he was born) from 1905 to this year was awarded Theinsignia of the Grand Cross of the legion D' Honneur at a ceremony held in the ministry of Foreign affairs this morning. In august 1944 he pleaded. Successfully with the Germans of spare Paris after Hitler had ordered the total destruction of the French Capital.
