Half-Way House Reached On The "Great Uhuru Railway" An important milestone was passed in the construction of the "Great Uhuru Railway," as the Chinese - built line from Zambia's Copperbelt to the Tanzanian coast at Dar-es-salaam is to be known, when it recently crossed the Tanzania/Zambia border. 970 kilometers out of a total of 1860 kilometers of track has been laid - and estimates show that work is up[ to 18 months ahead of schedule.
