Important medical discovery for organ-transplantations in West Germany.; Liver-patients, fro whom a successful transplantation was always dangerous up to now, may gain hope: A young doctor of the Bonn University Clinics, Dr. Tschon Su Lie, made a discovery in this special sector. The surgeon from Corea discovered a very simple technique with which the liver can be conserved for 12 hours without becoming unusable. during the tests with animals he developed the following system: Three times he took put the liver of an animal, filled it with glukose-solution and put the organ into a bigger ice-cooled one and covered it with a sterile cloth. As "testroute" the young doctor chose the air-way. Berlin - Bonn. In the federal Capital the organs were transplanted into other animals with success. Photo shows Dr. Techon Su Lie with the apparatus which he developed.
