He has been awarded the national price 2nd class, on October 6th, 1952 His friends call him "the painter of socialistic realism". His name is Max Lingner, born in Leipzig (east Germany) in 1888 as son of a laborer. in the meaning, he wound up to a professor, and he is a member of the "German academy of arts". he was "discovered" by Kaethe kollwitz, a noted east German author. She sent him to Paris where he found a job as a designer employed with the communistic press there. 1918, he was involved in the mutiny of German Navy-members in Kiel. prior to 1929, he had been arrested in "french concentration camps" (so reads the communistic caption) . During the time of German Nazi occupation, he joined the french resistance movement. since 1949, he lives in the soviet zone of Germany. our picture shows professor linger with some of his designs.
