Mentmore towers up for auction: Mentmore Towers, one of England's statelist homes is to be sold, and its750 acre estate is to be broken up. This is the family home of the late Lord Rosebury, who lives in Scotland. Contents of the 120 year-old stately home-with a collection of the finest Italian and French furniture in Britain, and is said to be worth over £3 million. The Autioneers Sotheby's s~~d this is the most important house sale in this country this century. Photo shows the 86 year-old Dowager Lady Rosebury pictured holding her favourite treasure from the collections, a silver dish made in Augsburg, Germany.
