Alexandre Solchenizyn in West-Germany: The Soviet author and Noble prize-winner Alexander Solchenizyn arrived yesterday at Frankfort airport, after he had been expelled from the Soviet Union. Solchenizyn had been arrested on Tuesday, February 12th, after he had refused to make any statements to his recently published book "Archipel GULAG", in front of a public prosecutor. Alexander Solchenizyn, who had to leave his family behind in Moscow, arrived last night at the village of Langenbroich, where he will stay at the country house of German author Heinrich Boll. Heinrich Boll watches the crowd of reporters from a window of his country house at Langenbroich.
