Description
Dissensions within the Free Democratic Party (FDP) in Germany: During the traditional meeting of the Free Democratic Party of Germany in Stuttgart on Jan. 6th, 1970, Mr. Walter Scheel, the chairman of the FDP, expressed his opinion on the statements of the former FDP chairman, Mr. Erich Mende. Mr. Scheel declared that Mr. Mende did not split up the FDP, he would have to choose, if he was willing to go along with the party's policy or not. In the last few weeks the former FDP chairman, Mr. Mende, had often criticized in public the course of the FDP as coalition party in Bonn. Mr. Scheel, the chairman of the FDP, however, declared in Stuttgart that a breaking of the coalition in Bonn was definitely out of the question. Photo shows Mr. Walter Scheel (centre) opening the meeting in Stuttgart.

Photo measures 8.25 x 6 inches.

Photo is dated 01-01-1970.
