SPD Party Convention in Nuremberg from March 17-21. The party convention for the SPD occurred in the Meistersingerhalle of Nuremberg. Shortly after the convention began there were substantial demonstrations and harassment of important party officials by left-wing radicals. After a nearly ten hour discussion, the party voted narrowly (173-129) to enter into a coalition.
