Police called to A.U.E. Headquarters.: Members of three trade unions are on strike at Hugh Scanlon's Amalgamated Union of Engineering Workers headquarters in Peckham, South London. The workers, members of the TGWU, the white collar union APEX and the print union SOGAT are on strike for a £400 weighing allowance back dated to April. Mr Scanlon;s Union has offered £208. Police were called to the headquarters today when union officials were prevented from entering. Photo shows Mr. Hugh Scanlon (who has just a £1,500 rise)is flanked by policeman when he came out of the building today, showing strike pickets in the background.
