Churchill Centenary Year Exhibition Opens At Blenheim Palace Near Oxford
To mark Sir Winston Churchill's centenary year the 11th Duke of Marlborough (Sir Winston was his godfather) has opened an exhibition at his stately home, Blenhiem palace, at Woodstock, near Oxford, Sir Winston born at Blenheim Palace on the 30th November 1874. The official opening ceremony was performed by Lady Soames. (Sir Winston's youngest daughter) The theme of the exhibition is Sir Winston's association with the Duke of Marlborough's family and much of the material is from the Duke's private albums and archives. One of the dominating features is the simple room in which Sir Winston was born 100 years ago.
