Gunman Emerges From Besieged Cottage To Collect Food: John James, the Shropshire gunman besieged in his cottage at Weston-under-Redcastle, emerged for the first time yesterday to collect groceries. He carried h\is shotgun under his arm. James walk six paces to an outhouse wall and collected a load\f of bread, a tin of luncheon meat, butter and water left, left by Mr. Tom Hadlington, his brother-in-law. It is now six days since James barricaded himself in the cottage with his wife Joyce and four young children. Photo shows Three of the Children seen at one of the Cottage Windows.
