1977 Press Photo Jim Connors booed by Wimbleton crowd for no-show at reception

Boos and Jeers For Connors: J immy Connors, the 1974 Wimbledon champion the unenviable place in Wimbledon history when he came onto the Centre Court to be booed and jeered at by the Crowd. The reason for this reception was for his failure to attend the Centenary reception in which medals were presented by the Duke of Kent to pasts and present Wimbledon Singles Champions on the centre court before the start of the championships. Photo shows Jimmy Connors looking very sad as he enters the centre Court yesterday for the start o his match against Lewis of Britain. Connors won in two sets.
