West Germany: Start Of The NATO-Autumn-Exercise: In these days all over Europe manoeuvres take place,-in West by the NATO-forces, in East by the States of the Warsaw-Pact. Although the exercises of the NATO refer from the North Cape to Turkey, the centre of "Autumn Forge" - so the name of the manoeuvre - is in West Germany. About 200 000 soldiers take part at these multifarious exercises. Photo shows At the beginning of the exercise "Autumn Forge" in North Rhine Westfalia/ West Germany, American and British soldiers and their cars are transported via the river Rhine by co-operation of the German Bundeswehr.
