Tanks leave for NATO Exercise: "Cruseader 80" Britain's biggest series of military exercises to be held for more than 30 years, was heralded yesterday by the move of Chieftain tanks of teh Queen's Royal Irish Hussars from Tidworth to Southampton for embarkation for the Continent. Three seperate exercises are to take place under the umbrell codename Crusader 80, which is designed to test Britain's plans for mobilisation, for reinforcement of BAOR and for teh defence of teh United Kingdon bases. Photo shows A dawn patrol of relatives gather at a stopping point near Winchester for a champaigne to toast to the tanks crews.
