1953 Press Photo Nuremberg mason arrested for climbing St. Lorenz- Church.

Every photo in our collection is an original vintage print from a newspaper or news service archive, not a digital image. Please see our FAQ for more information.

Description
A Nuremberg mason wanted to climb on top of the St. Lorenz- Church. First he emptied some bottles, and, being an aggressive man, he climbed up the lightning conductor while a crowd of a few hundreds watched the scene. He himself liked to see this for even in last summer he made the very same - climbing up on lightning conductors while drunk like a skunk. A fire-brigade was alarmed and they tried to get him down, but he told of the St. Lorenz Church, he came down, and was "welcomed" by two cops who bought him in an arrest-cell where he will have sufficient opportunity to sleep sober.

Photo measures 8 x 6 inches.

Photo is dated 1-12-1953.
