Work In Progress On The Chiswick Fly-Over Expected To Take Two-And A-Half Years To Complete: The construction of the Chiswick fly-over at the junction of Chiswick Road W. when the Cromwell Road extension joins the Great West Road-is now in progress. The scheme incorporates a round about 400 ft. in diameter as well as the flyover which is half a mile long. Cost of the construction is estimated to be about ~820,000-and is expected to take about two and a half years to complete-although part is expected to be in use within 12 months. In the meantime control of the traffic during rush periods is in the hands of a policeman-in a tower, overlooking the area. Photo shows. One of the concrete supports under constructiion-at Chiswick Round about.

Photo measures 10 x 8 inches.
