Navy Tries Out New Zip Style Jumper. Leading Patrolman Peter Hagel, from Blackpool, on left, seen peeling off the Royal Navy's zip-jumper which is being tried out- whilst his companion, Leading Patrolman Kenneth Bates, of Cambridge, demonstrates a struggle with his old-style windpipe cheater. The Navy is trying out 200 of the new zip-suits in blue serge and white drill, at home and overseas. The zip does not show and looks at the top of the tight-fitting jumper. The old and the new were compared yesterday at Greenwich.
