Studying Mystery Damage to ships. The British Shipbuilding Research Association is using models in a testing tank made by Vickers Armstrongs at St. Albans, Herts, to study a mystery motion of the Sea which can cause damage to ship's bottom shell plating. When ships are pitching high pressures are generated their hulls and the water - the cause of which is unknown. Photo shows A wax model being prepared for testing in the tanks at St. Albans.
