The contents of the play is that the judge of Weitwoerth is every where known as a Tyrant who throws Andreas into prison for alleged poaching. Burgl, the bride of Andreas, tries to manage that Andreas will be released. She succeeds in getting a document which compromises the judge. For that the judge is sent out of the country. Andreas is then set free and may have his happy end with Burgl.
