New Nation Asks For Old Governor: On March 6 the Gold Coast and Togoland will, with British cooperation, combine into one African nation, Ghana, a self-governing member of the British Commonwealth. At the request of the Prime Minister of the Gold Coast, Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, the country's Governor, Sir Charles Arden-Clarke-in-Chief of the new nation. Sir Charles has been Governor of the Gold Coast for eight years. Photo shows Sir Charles Arden-Clarke.
