Wife Learns to Fly Aircraft on 7,000 Mile Trip... Captain Michael Somerton-Rayner of the Army Air Corps and his wife INA landed at Middle Wallop, Hants yesterday - at the end of a 7,000 mile flight from Kuala Lumpur, Malaya - in their 17 year old Auster aircraft - purchased for £500 in Malaya.. They left Malaya on Oct. 1. and made 34 landings in India - Egypt - Libya and Jordan and during the journey - Captain Rayner taught his wife to fly and navigate the aircraft. Captain Somerton-Rayner is to be a flying instructor with the Army Air Corps.
