17th of Sept . 1978:70th Birthday of Franz Grothe: To read every wish from his eyes... is the priority task of the wife of the well known composer, pianist and arranger Franz Grothe (FRANZ GROTHE). In some days, at Sept. the 17th 1978 Franz Grothe can celebrate his 70th birthday. Born in Berlin and linked with music from his father -house he very early laid the foundation for his later career: He was just five year old when he learned to play violin - and ten years when he starte to compose. To his first succ3ss Richard Tauber had helped him: The well known singer sang the tango of Franz Grothe 'Roses and Ladies" and with it he added to the most successful German composers of the show business. He wrote more than 170 film-musics, for example: "Love me","Ladies are better diplomatists". "Dance with the Emperor" and so on. Under the interpreters of his melodies are as well known names as Maika Rokk, Johannes Heesters, Lilian Harvey, Jan Kepura, Kirsten Heibert ( the first wife of Franz Grothe) and the Martha Eggert. Franz Grothe got in 1966 the Paul-Lincke-Ring, was 1970 awarded with the Federal Cross of Merit and in 1975 he got the Golden Filmband of the Berlin Festival.
