Description
Miss Monica from Streatham Says - I'll Share My Husband. Miss Monica Etherton, 30 year old golden haired London school teacher, has decided to become a Nigerian. "And, if romance comes along", she said, "I am quite prepared to share my husband with other wives". For polygamy is practised in Nigeria, on the West Coast of Africa, and that is allright with Monica. She has decided to spent her life there after ten years teaching at Streatham Vale, London primary school. A six week holiday as the guest of a tribal chief (he has four wives and a fiancee) clinched the decision. She flew back from Africa yesterday wearing the Nigerian national dress, a blue nylon buba (blouse), a silvery cotton head "tie" - two yards of it - and a cotton wrapper tucked around her 36 inch hips. Photo Shows: Monica Etherton in Nigerian national dress, seen on her arrival in London yesterday.

Photo is dated 1954.

Photo measures 8 x 10 inches.
