Day of Prayer in Altoetting, Upper Bavaria: Under the direction of the "Fides Romana", a laymen's association of catholic German men for church and Pope, the "Altoetting Prayer'd Day for the Silent Church" took place here, on 14 Jun 1953. This religious meeting had been organized to commemorate the victims of the church from behind the Iron Curtain. Ten archbishops, bishops, abbots and many faithful from the behind the Iron Curtain attended the Prayer's Day.
